Two days into our reading, how's it going? We all read at a different pace, and our brains all work differently so if this is your first time reading through the Bible I hope you're being patient with yourself as you figure out a rhythm. And if you haven't started yet, no big deal!
Just as one example, here's my routine. Read my chapter first thing in the morning with my cup(s) of coffee. Takes me about 10 minutes. Then I spend another 5 minutes or so journaling the ideas and questions that came up. For me, this is a helpful way to process what I read. I'm one who loves deep diving into the details of a Bible passage (like googling "myrrh"), - a potential hazard when you have a large scale reading goal - so journaling helps with that. If you like, check out a classic free online bible commentary like Matthew Henry's commentary to get some of those questions answered. But don't think you need a commentary every time you read the Bible. The most important words are right in front of you.
